This unit, we were given the opportunity of choosing a topic of our choosing as long as it was within the theme of “Equality and Diversity” so I chose Domestic and Sexual Abuse however wanted to focus on the aspect of abuse towards men since it isn’t a topic people talk about.
Once we were given the topic for this unit, I was extremely excited to start as I have always been passionate about equal rights and immediately had several ideas of what sort of topics I wanted to cover. My first thought was to do LGBT, Feminism and/or mental health, but after some thinking I came to conclusion of covering domestic abuse and sexual abuse as it’s not a topic a lot of people talk about.
However, it was easier said than done during the beginning as I was doing great on the research aspect however I wasn’t quite sure on how I was going to do on the experimental side of it. I had ideas but did not know how to put them across.
Despite the obstacles I encountered, I feel like the most successful part of project was the research side of it as I had seen many news articles that had happened over the years and since I already had a bit of knowledge on it, really helped with the rest of the project.
If I had to re-do the project, I feel I would try to improve my time management as I undoubtedly could have done a lot better with how I dealt with the project’s time limit and could have planned my time more wisely. But nonetheless, I am happy with the outcome.
