Illustrator

Emoji               Shield.jpg

To introduce us to more ways of editing and creating, we were shown illustrator where we were given the task of creating 3 emojis; a happy face, a sad face and an angry face. For the faces I didn’t like it too much but it did help me figure out a few of the controls.

Then we were told to make the Captain America shield, then I started to mess around with the gradients and tried to make a glare to the shield to make it a little bit more realistic as it looked too plain before.

Planets

In my own time I decided to look at a few tutorials on how things work in illustrator. I also did it for me to get the hang of it, so I went back into illustrator and made the image above.

Lyrics

As homework, we had to take photos of different fonts. This could be signs, bus stops and a magazine cover, whatever we could find. The task we were then set was to then open them up in photoshop where we cut out certain letters of the logo in order to form some lyrics of a song of our choosing.

My choice was “Warriors” by Imagine Dragons, I wanted to have a colour theme going so it didn’t look too over the top or messy, so I repeated the majority of the letters and kept the light browns, blacks and blues to keep a certain pattern going.

I really liked how it turned out however, I knew I didn’t want to continue using this method for an album cover. I can see why people would like it if they were creating an album with some kind of nostalgia feel to it; torn images or possibly slightly burned images. But I wasn’t fond of it therefore decided to leave it.

Photoshop

To take the photo we made the room as dark as possible and made sure Charlotte stood in front of a black background whilst aiming the lights in different angles. The photo on the right is the one I edited on photoshop where I wanted to make the lighting a little brighter, to do this I increased the brightness and contrast up slightly. I also tweaked the levels and the exposure, things I haven’t ever used when editing photos.

Before this I had never really used photoshop, so this was a whole new experience, I am quite happy with the results as it draws more attention to the subject of the photo. However, I feel like I need a bit more practice in order to edit photos more in depth since I went into this knowing near to nothing about photoshop.
